RSE/PHSE
Following the DFE announcement of changes to the Relationships and Sex Education curriculum and the Fallibroome Trust consultation period back in January 2020, all of the Fallibroome Trust primary schools have now fully adopted the RSE curriculum following the Christopher Winters scheme of learning.
This scheme is very detailed and addresses the following aims:
- To develop confidence in talking, listening and thinking about feelings and relationships.
- To be able to name parts of the body and describe how their bodies work
- To understand that the life process of humans includes growth and reproduction
- To understand the pressures of unwanted physical contact
- Know how to protect themselves and ask for help and support.
The content of these lessons is quite detailed and involves children learning elements of relationship and sex education eg. names of body parts and intimacy , that would not have previously been discussed at Primary level. Your child may come home discussing what they have learned - this learning will be done in accordance with the Trust policy.
