School Meals

Our Catering Supervisor, Mrs Berwick, takes pride in producing well cooked, appetising meals for the children to enjoy, so please encourage your child to have a school meal. Available daily is fresh fruit, a selection of vegetables and / or salad, bread and a choice of drinks. 75% of dishes are freshly prepared and cooked on site by the school catering team. A vegetarian option is available each day. Menus are displayed around the school.

Fresh meat is sourced from local suppliers who use farm assured or red tractor certified products. We also use MSC fish and free range eggs. Fruit and vegetables are obtained locally when in season. Bread, milk, cheese and yoghurts are sourced from within the North West.

From September 2014 all Key Stage 1 children are entitled to a free school meal each day. Please ask in the school office for more information.

For Key Stage 2 the dinners cost £2.40 per day. Please note if not paid for using Parent Pay, dinner money should be brought to school on Monday mornings in an envelope with your child's name on. You can pay for an entire term in advance if you wish. Cheques to be made payable to Whirley Primary School.
